A whole thread dedicated to chips! I guess I'll have to try them right away when we get there if they're that good. My favorite chip flavor is BBQ.

I read about Fox Family Farm in Downeast a while back. I wanted to order some of their chips, but I'm determined to wait until our Maine visit to actually try them.

Kraft used to make pretty good clam dip now you can only find Helluvagood calm dip and it isn't all that good! Got a good clam dip recipe by chance?

I have seen them in smaller markets and convenience stores. They're in silver bags and usually in their own display.

Here you go Maineh... a long time family favorite... 3 generations...

Clam Dip

4 cans chopped clams, squeezed - drained with liquid reserved or 2 large cans whole small clams, drained, liquid reserved

1 small onion

8 oz. cream cheese softened to room temp.

16 oz. sour cream

Worcestershire sauce

Frank's hot sauce or Tobasco

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh lemon cut in half

Blend cream cheese and sour cream in a bowl with electric mixer til smooth and creamy. Add clams and stir with a spoon. Grate about 1/2 the onion into the mix. Add clam juice by the TBSP. until dip is creamy and taste to make sure you've got a good clam taste going on. Add a tsp. of fresh squeezed lemon at a time to taste. Add a couple dashes Worcestershire sauce. Dash with hot sauce to taste. Add salt and pepper to taste. Chill an hour or longer til flavors have melded. I prefer overnight.

Serve with ruffled chips or crackers.

One can never have enough clam dip on hand when company is around! ... or leftovers for after the party!

Yes those are the ones! Very good chips. Whenever we have guests we buy them!(and when we don't!)
