I've had the fire department here twice for having a fire in a 55 gallon drum! There was nothing they could do about it as it was contained but they came anyway.
Did you know that "burn barrels emit dioxin, acid vapors, carcinogenic tars, and heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and chromium, as well as unhealthy amounts of carbon monoxide." (according to the Wis DNR) It's amazing we're all still alive.
yes, especially those Eastport old timers! burn barrels were every where when I was growing up I wonder *how many* you have to have going in a closed in area to suffer any ill effects? oh, and how *long* you have to stand there?
Well, we don't get snow, but we get cool! Our high today is 68, so that will feel very nice all day. By Sat, we're back up to 80, but then another front is coming through, so our highs will drop back to the 70s.
The mountain is gorgeous this morning. It has snow all the way down to the tree line and the skies are crystal clear; not a cloud.
