See, this makes me mad, it really does. Cut it out. There is only ONE Maine. I was born in Maine, grew up in Aroostook, lived in Hancock County for thirty years until last January, and I'll always be a Mainer. I'm neither Right-wing nor Left-wing. I prefer self-reliance and common sense. I kept milk goats, chickens, and heated with wood. I own guns and know how to use them. AND...I have a Volvo XC wagon that I bought new in 2002. It's got 140,000 miles on it. Does that make me one of "them?" How dare you. I mean it. I've had it with this dumb delineation.

Off the soap box!!!
Thank you Seaglass, I think you've just become my new best friend! There is no us vs. them and that mentality is ridiculous.
ONE MAINE.

I can't believe I just bumped the thread I detest the most. But it's nice to see someone else of the same mindset.

Thanks for joining us today!

Call me warm and fuzzy, but I think these times are complicated and difficult enough without maintaining unproductive pigeonholing for everyone. One can't expect support or understanding from someone you deride as "them".
Speaking from the position of being "them " to lots of people because of my brown skin, i see only economic haves and have-nots, rural and urban, working and non-working. I see a lot of stuff in between as well.
Issues don't get resolved from finger pointing.

I like Volvos - the neighbor across the street from us in Eastport drives her Volvo station wagon like a bat out of (you know) and she enjoys it enormously. Me, I'm a Prius person myself, I think. But since I don't own one yet, I'm not really sure.

Ranger.101ST, Starvation is a bad way to go. You'll do better selling those pink lawn flamingos.
