So we have decided to get married here in maine this summer. We would like to have it be on the coast. But we both just moved to maine and have no idea where to have it. We would like it to be cheap, which I am discovering is a little difficult on the coast in prime season. Nothing fancy, just a place big enough to hold 100 people and where we could be outside. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Call the town of Freeport. They run Winslow Park in South Freeport. There is an area at the end of the park road they rent out for weddings. It's pretty there.

I don't know many places, but I'll throw out my regulars when people ask this question. Black Point Inn on Prout's Neck in Scarborough is pretty and quaint, but it might be a bit pricier ( The Black Point Inn 510 Black Point Road, Prouts Neck, Scarborough Maine ). If you're looking for an outdoor venue, You may be able to do it at Ft. Williams State Park in Cape Elizabeth and throw up a little tent. That may cost you less than hosting at an Inn. Just some thoughts, I'm sure there are plenty of others).
