It's funny you forget how much work they can be(like having a toddler) until you get another one!

yes! exactly! and how you're promised: "I'll do everything!! You won't have to do anything at all!!" uhuh...

Yesterday I put up gates in the kitchen--no easy task, needed 3!-- and went off to DAC Cheering Comp. I thought the gates were all tight enough... but I got home hours later to find one of the gates down. The other dogs were looking at me like "it wasn't me"... a minute later she shows up at my feet all excited and happy. I looked all over the house (15 rooms, and yes she does stairs) for accidents or damage--there wasn't anything I could find but I'm worried that something will turn up in a day or two. There's probably a chewed cord, or at the very least, nerf bullet, somewhere! BUT, *she* was very proud of herself for getting out of the kitchen!! She also is a coffee hound... I set my cup down yesterday on the hearth to do something, I thought she was in the kitchen, but I turned around to find her little puppy head in my mug. Now whenever anyone has a mug in their hand she whines and whines! Right now, she's snuggling with the Lab in front of the fire... but I know it won't last....

I know, right. Paige's four cats are clear evidence of that in this household.

It has been steadily snowing here in Gorham, since I woke up this AM. It isnt a storm or blizzard... just steady falling dry snow....at times some gusty wind catches it and swirls it upward....I just came in from filling the bird feeder....(I felt badly for the little chick-a-dees who have come to expect an unlimited supply of black sunflower seeds)....and several inches have fallen since I awoke around 5:30.....It is a christmas card kind of snow.....catching in the hemlocks and filling the crooks in the branches of the leafless trees. It will be a good day for gazing.

This is the kind of snow that could fill-in a snow angel before you could get back in the house, your mittens off and make a cup of cocoa.

I just love puppies! We have one of those plastic "play yards" for our dog. It's big enough for his bed and some toys. If we have to go out and leave him home we know he's safe, it's his "bedroom". That's where he sleeps at night so he's safe and out of mischief.
