I've heard this a lot. People SWEAR they've seen it happen. When I ask them why they'd watch this happen the story changes a little. Nobody wants to admit they'd waste their money, their labor and resources to watch the bird die simply so they could say they it happens. So they didn't reallllly see it themselves but Uncle Fred's cousin Tom's mother's sister's father's girlfriend's uncle saw it happen!

Sometimes, gullible people amaze me with what they'll believe just because so-and-so said it's true.

When we were kids we'd tell gullible people that the word gullible isn't in the dictionary.

When in doubt of someone's intentions ask before assuming. Assuming often reveals what's in your mind rather than someone else's heart.

We just came back from a mini road-trip down Rt 9 from Biddeford to Kennebunkport and then on to Wells. We had lunch at the Maine Diner Maine Diner; it was fantastic. It made me smile thinking about all the discussions on the forum about if folks in Maine are friendly.....at the booth next to our table were two regulars who live about 3 miles from the restuarant....they welcomed us....extolled about the food ..... and even came over to point out their favorites on the menu......they have been coming to the Diner once a week for the past 5 or 6 years......(they also had good things to say about Mikes Seafood place down the street a ways.... They couldnt have been more friendly!

After lunch we came back up on Rt 1 though Kennebunk (what a charming little town that is) thru Arundel and into Biddeford and over the river into Saco and then we took back roads home to Gorham. Much evidence of springtime moving into Maine from the south. It was a beautiful drive.
