Since Maine has consistently been one of the poorest states in the country, I'm amazed at how many people I see posting on the forums about wanting to move there because it's so great. It reminds me of what happened here on Cape Cod in the 80's and early 90's, and at about the same time frame down in Florida. Florida used to be just a sleepy, tropical, red-necked state where people worked hard for what they had. Now it's awash in immigrants, high taxes, poor schools, high crime, and everything else that comes from going from 5 million residents to 27 million residents in less than 25 years. I hope to God that doesn't happen to Maine.

He also said to buy beans and sneakers. I'm not sure when I can expect my return on these investments.

Usually, on the first one, it's about 6 hours. Can't speak to the sneakers, I don't wear them.

I agree it's far too cold and snowy up here. Nobody in their right mind would move here from anyplace that's warm! It's 5 degrees outside right now. Tell me how nice that is!

As one tin-foil hat wearer to another, shhh.

Have you seen the recent FDA raids on food pantries and Co-Ops?

'Hoarding' food has become a targeted activity. Folks who admit to stockpiling food are becoming suspected of 'terrorist' intentions.

I have a few links to news stories about such federal raids, you can find them for yourself if you wish.

In the mean time, shh.
