You can rent snow sleds up here in Greenville. We offer a snowmobile week in February, usually, complete with fireworks. Hundred mile sled dog race, not sure when.

Lots of ice fishing in the area. Fishing tournies in places. Togue Tournament at Moosehead, last weekend of Jan.

Skiing at Squaw. The seaplanes are using skis, take a ride.

Default Snowmobile rentals in Maine

There are quite a few towns in Western and Northern Maine where you can rent sleds (snowmobiles). Please be aware that doing so is usually not cheap. They require a huge deposit due to first timers and out of state riders as well as the daily/weekly rates. While I'd like to think they maintain these rental sleds, the ones I've seen broken down trailside tell me otherwise. Also, if you were to do so, please be aware that while trails are usually well marked well into the season, it's very easy to get lost out there, even with a map which "should" come with your rental. If you had a hand held GPS, that would be your best bet.

Remember, always keep to the right on the trail and be kind enough to use hand signals to let other riders know your intentions. Hand signals are displayed on your trail map.

Best of luck to you and enjoy your time in Maine.

I'm excited for you! I can relate to your elation, since DH has already begun the process of transferring his EMT/Fire certs to Maine. It definitely gives you the butterflies in the stomach feeling! Good luck on the relocation and new job!

We got lobstah at Buds Shop&Save in Dexter the day before Christmas for $3.99

Been a long time since the family had lobster, and I have a big family.

Be sure to check out P&L for bulk meats as well....
