I'm not sure if there are any local mens leagues but you'll be sure to see plenty of neighborhood games played on little ponds and lakes around the state. Adults and kids all playing together having fun outdoors on a nice sunny winter day. Great stuff.
You might want to check out North Yarmouth Academy, they have a rink and might offer a mens league.

Or check out this team, I hear they have quite a following.

There was a pond hockey tournament held in Rangeley in western Maine a couple years ago. Most men's leagues are indoor hockey however. Folks in Aroostook County mostly play in Canadian leagues because of the level of competition I believe. The "world championship" is held just across the border from Fort Fairfield. It's an incredible event for sure. Check out their website if you don't believe it. They capped it at 120 teams I believe.

Almost any town in the western mountains has outdoor rinks and organized leagues.

does Maine have out door hockey??
yup but only when the water is frozen.
we tried a summer hockey league but kept getting our shoes wet.
so we tried Waring boat shoes then the puck kept sinkin.
do you know how hard it is to play hockey with boat shoes and a life jacket on.
