Good Morning to my Happy Friends!!!

Is there (or where is) the local/regional Red Cross office?;

also I've heard a ton of negative remarks about the VA medical care; anything positive esp. from the Calais medical center?

This site seems to be slowing down on ya Jolly.

you will always hear negative stories about the VA from the vocal folk. Sometimes it's well founded. Togus (outside Augusta) seems to have little negative said. At least in Eastport and we have quite a feew 'Nam vets here along with Korea and WWII. As for red Cross offices, go here: American Red Cross in Maine Offices in Bangor, Ellsworth, Rockland, and Caribou.

I was checking out Eastport on ebay yesterday. found a painting (not there now tho!?!?) a guy did with the breakwatah in the foreground and Campobello in the background. He described it that way and went on to say it wa a beautifull sunset. So when did we shift Campobello over to the west side of the island? To be fair the guy said he got into town as it was getting dark and had to do the sunset over Canada by memory. That's what happens when you use the rectal databank.

I did get an 1889 HARPER'S WEEKLY with an article on Eastport for $4 though.

had a hard time findind Campobello until I realized it was that huge chunck of land (I was looking for a tiny little island for the sun to set on or in this rise) ... how big is that bridge to goes from Lubec to Campobello? I really hate bridges, especially since the one in Minneapolis fell down; how big (high & long) is the bridge in Calais?

According to another thread a few weeks ago it 14.3 meters high (about 47 feet) but it can't be much more than 1/2 mile long. Big arch though. Calais is about the same length or shorter but flat across. Maybe 15-20 feet high? Campobello is a nice island to drive/ride around. DW got a kick out of going to "another country" to see a Presidents cottage.

I'll be crossing in Calais ... my driveway is about 1000' and with all this thawing & freezing it is like a skating rink and I can't find my spikes - it would have been a comedy - keystone cops - watching me walk from one end to the other

I noticed while walking around Eastport it is a little hilly - I would assume icing to this degree is not an issue
