I would think in light of your leaving, that a Texas themed party would be better. Sort of a farewell to Texas. You could have a big old BBQ, with all your favorite side dishes. And, lots of green chile. LOL

The pictures of the pine cone, the little chicadee, the lobster, all on your little napkins.
That's the 'theme.' Right? It doesn't have to be JUST food, although that is the basic THING at all parties. The red and white table cloths, of course. Blueberries are so pricey, but pictures of them are not. I still have a lot in my freezer, picked this summer when that wonderful berry season overlapped with the blackberry season. I call my pies Black and Blue pies. Can you get any of the local Maine beer there? No, maybe not, but look at all those MAINE MADE web sites for ideas that you can make yourself, and cover the beer lables with a good old pretend Maine lable.

The only blueberries I find in stores here are Driscoll brand. I've tried to track them down, but no-where can I find "Maine" on their info, so I'm guessing they're not. They are cheap right now. $2.98 a carton - I think it's 2 cups worth.

You are right....I found this on line....Sourcing: In the winter months in the Northern hemisphere, Driscoll's blueberries come from the warm summer environs of Argentina, Chile and Australia. As the sun moves north, blueberries start in Florida and North Carolina. The next regions to harvest include California, Oregon, New Jersey and British Columbia.

I wont tell your sisters. mums the word.

Beans and hotdogs (red would be my preference but I don't believe you can get red hotdogs in Texas)
Home made biscuits.
Make extra biscuits and have strawberry shortcake for dessert.
You really have to have whoopie pies too.
How about fluffernutter? Maybe make some needhams?

I was just thinking of that very same thing. I think he may have missed his true calling as a gourmet chef.
