Bar Harbor Lobster Bakes offers traditional Downeast Lobster Bakes with beautiful ocean views.

sun, we use to attend a couple company parties that put on clambakes, but in the past couple of years we had the lobsters/clam corn eggs/potatoes, cooked at the place that sold them, served in a baitbag, no cooking, very little mess, etc, no worrying bout kids going near a fire, neighbors complaining about smoke, not to mention almost half the price
this went over very well, just something to think about


i thought there was a local outfit out of winthrop that did these and pigroasts?????

Hmmm...I don't know of any place in Winthrop that does them, I'll have to check. I've mostly been searching the internet. The cheapest we've found is Downeast Caterers at $32/person. Every other place I've found is closer to $50/person. I'm looking because I'd like to have a lobster bake at my wedding reception on Bailey Island and we're on a budget!!!

Did you call Cooks Lobster House on Bailey Island? They do them right there out on the point. I don't know about the price range however it might be somewhat negotiable given the circumstances of the economy. It doesn't hurt to counter what they give you for a price, they might bite.
I'll give this some more thought later and could possibly find locals there that have experience as caterers and doing lobster bakes as well as spouses that are lobsterman. I'll check with them tomorrow, please DM me with the date and location on Baileys. I think I can do this and am happy to help. (I lived on the islands for years, and am currently in Maine)
