In Texas, we were bundled on all but the DTV, and it was cheaper. Here, our options just aren't abundant with only one option for phone and one option for high speed internet.

For us, it's the opposite. We only had one option for internet or TV--satellite. Even if we had lived in town rather than on an isolated ranch, there were still few options and I don't think there was anybody who offered bundling. TWC doesn't come down there? I thought your house was closer to town than mine.

Nope. Remember, we're about 3/4 of a mile past you coming from town. It's not that TWC isn't out here. It's that we're off the main road (River Rd/Rt 1) and on a private lane - a LONG lane that runs along the river. They don't have lines installed down this particular lane, unfortunately. We'd have to pay $2000 (for a house we don't own) to have the cables run. If we were buying, we'd definitely make the investment. Since we're just renting at this point, it's not a worthwhile expense.

I just had major deja vu! I'm sure I've said all that at least once or twice before, so sorry if I'm being redundant. I've hashed my telephone/internet woes SO many times now, I can't remember to whom, how many times, when, where.........

So, our phone service that we ordered the first week of February was JUST connected today. Woohoo! Now we go to battle with them over that $45 connect fee that I'm NOT paying.

You go girl! I'd be giving them HECK after all they've put you through!

Glad to hear you have a phone though, and that things are starting to fall into place!

Yep, and I just talked with someone in the conflict resolution department. They assure me that the entire bill up to today and the installation fee will be credited to my account. I also got her direct phone # in case the next bill is still incorrect. How much do you want to bet I have to call back?

No bets here - I got two completely different bills from Fairpoint within 3 days of each other last month.

When you say 'bet', can we place our bets on the odds that you will be speaking with them again?

They knew you were going to add that third cell!

oh d*mn, another number to remember.... there is one number for someone across the state that I've remembered since the first time I ever heard it said in a voice mail---way back in October! Not all of them are that easy though! (the number I mean.)
