mussels are good, i agree with mermaid, pick the ones that are submerged

as kids we use to pick alot of mussels, and dig clams,

when i was working in belfast years ago, i sold the unharvested mussels for .99lb
the farmed ones are a bit more

Cook them in a big pot with a couple of cups of white wine, a LOT of chopped garlic, a bit of salt, and either olive oil or butter. They take just a couple of minutes and are delicious! Especially with some crusty artisan style bread and butter.

You can eat wild mussels but find out about red tide areas first.
Its pretty rare but it does happen.
