Our site work [driveway and concrete] was done by:
Owen J Folsom Inc
300 Gilman Falls Ave
Old Town, ME 04468
(207) 827-7625

Like I said in one day they can make a hard packed driveway 40 foot wide by 300 foot wide, and filled with 3 foot of stone.

The Foundation was done by:
N S Giles Foundations
16 Bomarc Rd
Bangor, ME 04401
(207) 942-9445

In three days, the foundation is done, the crews were gone and everything was picked up. These guys work fast and do a great job. They pour foundations 365 days a year.

I can get the well driller for folks if needed.

I got our building from Freedom Steel.

2400 square foot cost us $16,000. Pre-engineered to withstand hurricanes.

Our home was not bought 'turn-key' but for a three-bedroom home with sunken central living room, 40 foot lap-pool, and radiant floors. $20 per square foot is a reasonable goal.

Yes: they are much less expensive and faster to build compared to wood-stick. With the engineering involved you know exactly what kind of wind sheers, snow loads, and stresses the building can withstand. 30 year warranty on both the roof and wall paint [it is like hot-dipped or some such thing]. So many wood stick homes end up being covered with metal siding, why not build a metal building?

I suppose that long ago metal may have been flimsy and loud, but these days most exterior doors are foam-cored sheet metal. Solid, silent and structural.

In our building, once the first layer of foam was sprayed the walls became just like most folk's exterior doors.

If you don't mind sharing...Did that quote include the foundation, septic and installation as well?

Thanks so much! That is a great price! I ordered their catalog and am seriously considering this option now.
