There is a huge bunch of money being spent on constructing facilities, hiring folks and training them.

If anyone needs a job, ...

But then again I have already posted job openings a few times here, so perhaps I am just babbling.

I'd love to hear some of those antics.....lol.

My husband is with Fire/EMS and is working 1 f/t job, 3 per diem as they've all been very short-handed, and one of them is quite literally begging him to come on f/t. Then, as if he's not already being pulled apart too thinly, PD has hired him to work per diem in dispatch, with news of an upcoming f/t opening that he'll possibly be offered. He picks and chooses shifts amongst the p/t jobs as we need them, and we're doing just fine. Yes, even in Washington County, Downeast Maine, there is work to be had, and there is an abundance of nice, affordable housing.

Customs is actually called a CBP Officer as it involves quite a bit more than Customs work, and yes we are hiring, but one can expect at least a year wait even if there is an announcement--which there is not at this moment :-)

True, though it should be pointed out that many areas are simply expensive.
