Honestly, I don't think Maine will ever boom because of its geographical position. People love moving to warmer states, the Carolina's, Georgia, Florida, California, Texas and etc. Not only that people usually move to where the jobs are and unfortunately for Maine there is very little jobs.

SOME people love moving to warmer states. Our growing population shows that some people love moving to Maine.

maine has not grown much.

2000= 1,274,923
2008=1,316,456

georgia on the other hand
2000-2008

I happen to think that an increase of almost 100K isn't bad for a state with a small population. That being said however, it doesn't bother me at all if people choose to move. I like my elbow room!
