Are there any sandy beaches between say Belfast and Boothbay? We would like to take our dog to the coast and let him romp around and run.

I believe one of the 2 state park beaches right outside of Rockland allows dogs this time of year, however I am not sure if it is sandy.

None of the state park beaches allow dogs off leash.

We cruised down to Pemaquid beach and checked it out. There wasn't anyone on the beach so we let our dog run and play. Not sure if it is allowed or not, but it was empty so he wasn't bothering anyone.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it for the next outing with the hound.
