My family and I currently live in New Jersey (my wife is NJ2ME) where I am a police officer. We own a home in Lowell, ME (near Lincoln) and are hoping to relocate there permanently by the end of the year. I am not a hunter but am a huge gun advocate and avid shooter. I also like to shoot and train in the tactical area of firearms.

My question to you is: Where is there to shoot in that area? I notice there are no shooting ranges that I could find, indoor or outdoor. So where do I have to go to shoot and would I be frowned upon showing up to a shooting area wearing what would look like SWAT gear?

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

There is a good one just west of Exit 217 on I-95 or the Lincoln Exit. I expect you have a GPS. I'll send you the GPS coords. Some Saturdays it sounds like Knob Creek over there.
