Anyone travel through the Brunswick/Topsham construction lately?

I'm going up to the County this weekend from Portland and wanted to know if I should take 295-N to 95-N or just pay the extra $3 and take the Turnpike the whole way (from South Portland) to avoid the construction. Or maybe try to find a route through Freeport to avoid the 295-N traffic?

I can't find any information on lane closures / delays on the news websites. I'd really like to avoid hitting traffic in the first hour of a 6 hour drive. We'll probably hit Brunswick around 2:45pm tomorrow if we leave on time.

We came through Portland, Brunswick, Freeport on 295 on Monday on our way home from NH and Ogunquit. The construction was VERY minor and not bothersome at all. Mid afternoon should be no problem.

Went thru two weekends ago and no issues. It looked like most of the work was done.

The turnpike's traffic cam may be helpful.

Thanks guys. It's the new construction that started on 9/28, so I guess not much is known. I think I'll just try to go up 295 because I like it much better than 95 anyway.

Here's hoping the rain stays away so I can get some pretty foliage pictures!

Drove past it on the 29th... it's NOTHING. I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck!

The day they started that construction it was so screwed up they had seven accidents in one hour. Three were very serious. We drove through it yesterday to Topsham and it was no big deal. They were closing the left lane just after the Brunswick exit until you pass the bridge over the Androscoggin River.

Things get pretty backed up there around commuter time (5 - 6 PM), but other than that, it's not too bad.

Went up to Newport and back on 295 both ways today (Thursday), through Portland and it was not a problem. Speed limit was not an issue and moved along great.
