Hi,

My family and I are considering a move from Mississippi to Maine in a few years. We fell in love with the Cape Porpoise area after having visited a few times. Originally thinking of Maine as a retirement location (many years from now), but lately, we've thought about a move in the not too distant future.

Anyone live near the Cape Porpoise area?

How's the demand for RN nursing in the area hospitals? What about demands for Nurse Practioners or Nurse Anethesists?

Got to say we LOVE the state and the areas we've been to. The people are SO very friendly. You guys have stolen "Southern Hospitality" away from the Missisippians!

We first visited the Kennebunks in January, 2005. It was VERY cold and we loved it (by contrast, here we had just THREE DAYS of temps below freezing last "winter"). Then in June of this year, we returned and the summer was just wonderful - never broke above 74! My wife and I are born/raised in Mississippi, but we are SICK of the almost year-long heat, the MISERABLE 100+ degree summers (with humidity to match), the poor schools and the rising crime.

To quote my wife, "the summers alone would be worth anything winter could dish out". After decades of deep south mugginess and being a lover of winter weather/activities...I tend to agree.

All help/advise would be appreciated.

Thanks!
