Sometimes the dreary days get to me too namder. I try to stay busy, and that helps, but what helps the most is to get outside anyway. Luckily, having dogs makes that easy!

I use high tunnels (unheated greenhouses, plants grow in the ground instead of pots) on my farm. I should have the doors open and the sides rolled up until mid September or early October so that it doesn't get too hot inside. I have the doors closed and sides down to retain some warmth. This is better than the suffering heat of last summer but I could really use a happy medium.

I was out planting in the out of doors yesterday afternoon, crossing my fingers that seeds planted GROW and not just rot. Hedging my bets, I planted no more than half of anything. Got 5, 50' rows done before the drizzle started again.

I, too, prefer these temps, though a day or two to dry out (wouldn't even need sun, just bright overcast and no drizzle!) between wet spells would help.

It's not as bad in this part of Maine as the summer of '09 - not by a long shot, but it's bad enough. It's definitely wet dog season. I bought a steam floor cleaner last week and make the dogs stay on the sun porch to dry off before they're allowed in the house.

I'll take a few of them grey dreary days right about now. I sick of the hot weather already AND it's not summer yet.

I'm with you on that, BoxCar. Right now in Miami, where I came from, it's going to be in the upper 90s with 2000% humidity.

I am enjoying this cold, gray, drizzly weather.
