I was surprised to see no Maine city made the 5 top worst weather cities. The winners were Cleveland, Boston, New York, Milwaukee, and Chicago. This was on Yahoo.

Saw a Maine license plate today in parking lot of grocery store again. Figure it must be the folks from Jay, Maine who I met a month or so ago. Was going to wait to talk to them but had an appointment. (they left their engine running, I thought Maine folks were greener than that)

Read in the local newspaper tonight a local fellow is running for city council here in Wausau, WI. His profession is listed as being retired from the Maine State Prison System and also being a local union president in Maine, and a few other boards and federations, etc. He was probably in Thomaston and I was right next door in Rockland for several years. Like the saying goes, "it's a small world".

I'm surprised to see Boston on there and not Buffalo. Or was Buffalo in the top 10? They get more snow than Boston, so what's up with that list?

There are a lot of reports where Maine is not even considered because of its small size.. Sometimes they might even include Portland, southern Maine, and southern NH into the greater Boston N.E corridor... hows that for skewing numbers..

Who makes their "opinion" what makes worst weather anyway... it's like movie ratings... everyone has different taste.

I would vote somewhere hot and humid as the worst weather cities...

I (personally) would think a hurricane or two would probably qualify as worse weather than several feet of snow.

Several places in the Northwest have rain almost every day.

In my experience it's not the weather but how the city handles it. I grew up in Upstate New York where the "lake effect" produces snowfall as high as almost any other area of the lower 48. A foot of snow there has very little impact whereas a foot here in the St Louis area is enough to shut the city down.

IMHO it is all very subjective.

Maine can get some snow, but it does not effect much, life goes on.

While other places may get hurricanes, ice-storms, etc; and they have major life-threatening emergencies that shut down entire cities.
