RMoore, You cheated Darwin.

Last year there were 4 snowmobilers from PA on rented sleds. They stopped on South Twin Lake and asked how to get to Greenville. They thought they were on Moosehead! They were given precise directions to the dam between Ambajejus and Millinocket lake where they could get gas. They didn't have enough gas top get back to Greenville.

They ignored the directions and went straight toward Millinocket Lake. The first two sleds rode off into open water. The next two were able to turn when they saw the splashes and avoided the water. The rented sleds went to the bottom and both riders were rescued. People who live here know what to do. People who don't live here seem to think that we don't know what we are doing.

Not sure about any right in Houlton. There is a place in Island Falls about a half hour car ride south of Houlton. Probably close to an hour by sled. Birch Point is right on Pleasant Lake in Island Falls and right on the main trails. The ITS trail runs accross my property.
March 3 is the annual log drivers cookout with the worlds largest coffee pot. They also have a speed run if your into that. Lots of fun! They get 100's of sledders from all over.
