For those of you seeking information on certain areas in Northern Maine, well in any area in any state for that matter, the local Chambers of Commerce are there for you to utilize for these exact purposes. All of these questions can be answered in a matter of minutes by phone or by email! In northern maine there is a website Aroostook County Association of Chambers of Commerce that will give you the web addresses for the different local area Chambers! Use them, that is what they are there for!!! They can give you rent info, lists of landlords for their area, job websites, they send out information and relocation packets for free! Go get 'em!!!

Caribou: Aroostook Republican & News

Madawaska (also covers Fort Kent):
Saint John Valley Times
P.O. Box 419
Madawaska 04756
(207) 728-3336

Presque Isle:
The Star-Herald
P.O. Box 510
Presque Isle 04769
(207) 768-5431

None of those newspapers have websites that I can find, although the PI and Caribou papers are both owned by the Bangor Daily News (which BTW might have some apt ads for that area).

The best advice is to call the local chambers of commerce:

Jody Marston, executive director
Fort Kent Chamber of Commerce
291 West Main Street, Suite 101
Fort Kent 04743
800-733-3563
207-834-5354

I currently live in Presque Isle. I don't remember ever seeing an apartment more than $600-$700/month.
