No, you didn't look into the correct clinic. It has nothing like these. You have absolutely NO IDEA what area you're trying to discuss. Why not just quit now. You aren't here, you don't know, you aren't going to change anyone's mind. Are you done yet?

So, I saw snow flurries on the forecast for Wednesday and was thinking I'd be needing my NORDIC WALKING STICKS soon.

figaroUno - I think you have Eastport and another town mixed up - Eastport does not have a methadone clinic but another town several miles away does have such a clinic. You really need to get your facts straight before you post them as gospel truth to people who live there.

Thanks for the reminder Maine Writer - NORDIC WALKING STICKS will come in handy real soon.

ok, I have a question about those....

Elaine tells me there is a different way of walking with those.... I imagined that the stick moves with you like a hiking stick would, but there's a different technique going on, with a little bit of a drag and then a lift? I'm not walking for exercise right now, but I've GOT to, so, what's the technique?

AND is CD really slow right now for anyone else? everything is taking longer than usual to load? Wondering if it's all the BS in this thread??

I've looked at the sticks, and I can't figure out what they're for and why you might need them. 'Splain, Lucy!

Around here, when we go walking outdoors, we only need mace to fend off the dogs and the muggers and rapists!

Someone pass me a stick so I can prop myself up. I've been Power Mulching. Fill a load, spread it, haul two dogs back to the pile, fill a load, spread it, haul the same two dogs back to the pile.

lol... well, I got a call from DH that he would only get lunch if I brought it... so, I ran Katy out to school, came home warmed up left-overs for his lunch, took it up there, ate lunch with him, had my bloodwork done for surgery next week, came home, met child #2 in the driveway--we went to get gas in the blue Jeep so he could do a little 4x4 stuff, #2 dropped me off with the van, I went and got child #3 at the school, she begged for a choc shake, we went and got one, and now we're home and child #4 just walked through the door. So, my kitchen is still torn apart from this morning when I started it, and I'm on here

I'm still hoping to find out about the walking thing, not that I'll be walking for a while but... maybe if Elaine reads this she'll actually finally POST and answer Where did you guys find yours, and what's the theory behind using them. I'm asking because I'm trying to see why you can't use snowshoes poles--I all ready have those!!

Molly, If you already have cross country ski poles, and if they are the newer style with threaded tips you can put tips on there for pavement or rocks. You'll be good to go. They also have tips almost like crutch tips for in the woods. Sharp tips would stick into roots and catch.

Hope your surgery goes well and you have a quick recovery.
