I've owned land in Houlton, Maine for quite some time now. Right now I reside in Maryland and hold a master electrician license for both states. Ready to make the move up north to good old maine but like most people moving to that region work is hard to find. Does anyone know is electrical work up there is needed very often. Should I just go into buisness for myself because I noticed most companies aren't hiring. Any advise would helpful or even opiouns. Thank you and god bless. Greg

Greetings! I will be moving to Houlton Maine in late Jan. of this year. I will be managing an expansion project at the Louisianna Pacific facility just outside of Houlton. There are several contractors involved in this effort. If you check with the Houlton Chamber of Commerce they will give you a list of the contractors who have recently moved to that area. I represent the Teaford Company and we will be on site up until October of this year. Our project involves mechanical work only.I know that the plant will be handling all of the
the electrical aspects of the work. I belive they will be sub contract the electrical work. May God bless you in you efforts.Regards, Robert M. Hayes

Unhappy electricians needed

If you are a licensed Master Electrician, there is only one other electrician in town to my knowledge, I have lived here for four years in the phone book there is only one contractor, and the other company I know of is not very great. They are slow and the service is sub par. They leave work unfinished and it takes a while for them to come back to finish. I have not had good experiences with them. Their final product is okay but the process was horrible. I hope this is helpful.
