Hi all! I'll be coming up next week from Sun (4/18) through Fri (4/23) from Tennessee. This will be a business trip and I will be alone, and was just wondering some places to check out (sites and bars, mostly). I'll be staying at a hotel around the Portland airport, but my destination for work all week will be in Raymond. Thanks for the help and looking forward to my visit to MAINE!

Look for any place that has ferns.

Try this site: Portland Nightlife - Bars & Night Clubs in Portland ME: Best Night Life in Portland Maine
Brians Baru was nice last time I was there. No ferns though. There is also a fort: Fort Gorges - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and other stuff to see: Portland Maine Travel and Vacation City Guide: Maine Resource Guide

Try Gritty's in Portland for a nice old Brewpub. Best pizza in that area is Flatbreads, best bread by far is Standard Baking across from Flatbreads... awards form France for the baguettes. Get a taxi to drop you off on the corner of Marginal Way and Exchange Streets near the Casco Bay Ferry terminal and just walk around. There are more bars and restaurants in that area than anywhere else in Maine...and they're all great. Have a good time!

Check out the Naples causeway and a couple of the local bars there are a lot of fun. Right down the road from Raymond.

Those places are not open yet. We went through Naples on Saturday and nothing was open except Bray's Brewpub across from the IGA. The Songo Queen is still covered with black plastic.
