I wouldn't lose any sleep over Chinese drywall in Maine.
It doesn't have to be a contractor.
It could be a homeowner doing some remodeling himself, who might have unwittingly used Chinese drywall.

Contractors in Maine are neither uneducated or cheap. 
Canada (our neighbor) is a major manufacturer of drywall. Any drywall I've ever laid eyes on in a lumberyard around here says Canada right on it.
