You should see it at least once in your lifetime. The only way to describe it is that scene in "The Wizard of Oz" when they are following the yellow brick road through the poppy fields.....just a sea of beautiful poppies!
It usually is from the middle of July to early August, depending on the weather.

Thanks to all the well wishers! Only about 6 more weeks. We now have electricity so running water should not be a problem. So much more to do before we leave and after we arrive. Looking forward to family reunion in late July!

Hi Kevin. I'm very happy for you, and a bit jealous at the same time haha

Speaking of potato blossoms. My first sight of Maine were the potato blossoms. I was sleeping on the ride up and we had arrived in Maine already. My friend pulled over at a McDonalds for breakfast. I wake up in the car alone, and I see the sun rising over the horizon of pines, and a massive potato field infront of me with blossoms everywhere. Those "wow" moments started my love affair with Maine.
