My family and I are moving to the area in January. My husband will be working at the naval base and I will be attending college at Anne Arundel County College. I have a 4-year-old child who will be beginning school (kindergarten) and we have a large dog. We are looking for a rental home within 20 minutes of both the base and college with a really good elementary school, decent sized yard and a garage (looks like this is the biggest issue we are facing...not too many garages in our price-range which is <$1801). If anyone has any idea where to start looking for a home in which we will reside for about the next 3 years (other than Craigslist), I would greatly appreciate the information.
Thanks!

I'd call a realtor to help you find something. I don't know about rental prices, but areas with decent schools include Arnold, Severna Park, and Crownsville. That's not an all-inclusive list, just neighborhoods I'm familiar with.

Arnold is your best bet.All elementary schools are excellent. AACC is right there and Naval Station 10 minutes away(15 with traffic). Try looking on homesdatabase.com or realtor .com with Annapolis 21409 or Arnold 21012 zip codes. You will find more townhouses than SFH in your price range but they are there. I saw one with a carport rather than garage but with finished basement.

Thanks for the input! Arnold is on our list of places we are looking. Is anyone familiar with Edgewater?
