To be honest, I have never heard of any apartment complexes in our state called Southern Management. Additionally, I've never seen any company in Maryland that has the word "Southern" in it, yet I've seen many with the term "Mid-Atlantic."
Parts of Maryland are Southern-feeling, but the state as a whole does not. Same deal with states like Delaware, Missouri and perhaps even West Virginia. Southern =/= bad, but we don't share many similarities with the South.
