Ok, so Im thinking of moving to Maryland and would like to know what the best areas are for raising a family. I have a little sister that attends school here and Id like to be closer (for support). That and Im all too done with the deep south. I am a single parent and am looking for a good area to raise kids that wont depleate my savings. I'd also like to know what areas are best for employment, culture and diversity. I own my own car so commuting is not an issue. Im not looking to own a home (yet), but prefer to rent one vs an apartment. Im not a nightlife person and prefer to spend quiet evenings at home. Im really, simply looking for a means to be closer to family and snow.

How about near where little sister goes to school and/or expects to be working...
and sort out the apt/job thing based on that?
And whatever actual skills you have to offer.

As for snow... if you want more than just the typical 3-6" (3 or 4 times a year) and the occasional blizzard...
you'll need to go up into the mountains or much farther north to have snow around on any sort of regular basis.

what are the best places to live in the Baltimore area? I am thinking of relocating to Maryland and I would be renting an apt. It is just my husband and myself and we do not need a house. We're used to renting however, we would like a nice complex that is clean, no roaches and relatively quiet. I am well aware that when you live in an apt. you have to learn to deal with noise so that is not new to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
