Hello all! We are looking at a house in Mount Airy. We currently live in Frederick. I work in Gaithersburg, and my husband works in Baltimore. We are looking for a place "in between" but have a housing budget of about $275,000 - which rules out a lot of places below 70 toward Gaithersburg.

I'm wondering if anyone commutes from Mount Airy to Gaithersburg or that area? I'm looking to avoid 270 as much as possible.

Thanks so much!

I think you could take MD27 to MD355. I don't think it would be that bad a commute, but don't know what rush hour traffic is like.

There's also 27 to 108 to 124 in Damascus. 124 goes to the northeaster side of Gaithersburg. I have done that once, but not during morning rush hours. 27 to 355 or 270 is probably better. If you work to the west of 270 then you can get on 119 Great Seneca Highway in Germantown and get to that side of Gaithersburg.

It probably depends on where you are heading to in G'burg. Most folks i work with (Shady Grove Rd & Key West) that come from out that way come down 27 to 270 then get off at Sam Eig or Shady Grove
