Getting xferred next year and would like to know of great areas to live at outside of Baltimore. Married and two grandkids ( 3yrs and 7yrs).

Looking for a 2bd/2bath Apartment/Townehome to rent out for a year. I really would like the townehome thought for space. Max on rent $800-$900. Would like to drive no more than 30 -45 mins into downtown for work. Nice area that is convenient to malls, restaurants and supermarket.

THANKS !!

45 minutes at rush hour won't get you very far outside the immediate metro area...
and especially if that has to allow for the "park car and hoof it" time as well.

That won't go very far today. Anywhere
But especially not within your travel radius.

There are some ok areas of the city you might be able to find a 2br apartment at that rate ... but I doubt you will find many. I'd call it nearly impossible in any suburban area surrounding Baltimore.

You have free parking at the Courthouse as a part of your bennies? Cool.

Now all you have to do is find that "nice area convenient to malls, restaurants and supermarket"
with 2BR rentals for $800 or less. Do you need good schools for those grandkids too?

With the exception of the $800 aspect...
pretty much any of the suburban areas around town will work very well.
here's two: Your new 2BR/2BA Apartment! (http://baltimore.craigslist.org/apa/2696644701.html - broken link)
Beautiful 2BR Town Home Now available! (http://baltimore.craigslist.org/apa/2732395132.html - broken link)

With it you're gonna have a longer commute time.... Try one of these:

2 BR w/front & rear porches (http://york.craigslist.org/apa/2697518829.html - broken link)

I agree you are not likely to find a townhouse for under $900. They are running $1300-1600/month. But, here's an apartment in Rosedale, convenient to downtown. The info from Zillow says $900/month: 9206 Oswald Way O12 UNIT 1D, Baltimore, MD 21237 - Zillow . Also 9206 Oswald Way SPC 2, Baltimore, MD 21237 - Zillow . Shopping is not far away in White Marsh.

Try Skylark Point off Old Harford Road in Parkville.
