Would you rather live in Ward 7 or 8 in DC (barry farms, condon terrace, langston lane, Benning rd, 36th and minnesota, etc.) or bad parts of baltimore (Oliver, sandtown winchester, north ave, dolphin st, e. monument st, etc.?).

Is there really that much of a difference in terms of safety, schools, etc? In the last few years, Baltimore generally has a worse reputation than DC. As a whole, Baltimore is more run down and poor, but just comparing apples to apples (comparing neighborhoods instead of the whole city), they both seem about the same to me, or am I way off?

One hood is the same as the next...and they kill each other for the exact same reason in either city. That said, I would live on dolphin st. I have family around there, plus crime isn't as bad around there as people think it is.

Same **** different toilet!! I would choose east Baltimore its not all BAD!!! And some parts of the 8th ward aren't bad either!! But why would you choose to live in either, look into Baltimore county or MoCo!!

But if your looking to buy Northwest Baltimore Upper Park Heights in my opinion is the best place to live in Bmore!

Yeah I agree with you. I'm from DC but when I was younger, I used to live with some family on monument and milton in baltimore . I never understood the whole beef between the cities when poor folks are going through the exact same struggle, and how some people brag about which city is "worse".

Between Bmore, DC and PG, someone (probably a young black male) in this area is killed every single day. When you're 18 years old that's when you're supposed to grow and become a man, not die over something senseless! It's pretty disgusting when you think about all the potential talent that's being exterminated.

I have not been by Dolphin street in at least 8 years, so it's good to know it's not that bad.

You're right, and I wouldn't choose to live in either, I just know both areas pretty well cuz at some point in my life I've lived in both. And yes, I shouldn't totally generalize cuz there are parts of SE dc that are really nice as well as parts of east baltimore.
