Hows it going everyone, I am a 20 yr old student planning to transfer from a cmty college in VA to Towson University. Ive done a lot of researching about the school and I like what i found. They also have my specific major. Can anybody give me some extra insight about that particular school, the area, the people???? I would really appreciate it.

I graduated from there and then lived in Towson and Rodgers Forge after I graduated. The school is nice, but heavily commuter so parking is always a problem and the dorms are a very small world because such a small percentage of students live there. Extracurricular activities are also not heavily supported. It is not like a U of MD where there is a "big" football or basketball game that everyone goes to, Homecoming is not a big deal...The Greek life is pretty active but no houses are allowed on campus and this minimizes even their presence. It is EXTREMLY quiet on weekends-most dorm residents go home and Towson itself (the "town") is a big center of law offices, CPA firms..so during none working hours it is pretty deserted.

It is a good school as far as academics and quality of classes and teachers but most students are working and attending school and want to graduate as quickly as possible

That isn't true. There's a good amount of nightlife, restaurants, etc in Towson.
