How is 32 south in the morning (say from Eldersburg to Laurel)? How is 29 south in the Columbia area? Reverse in the PM during traffic time?

Thanks!

Leanne

My husband goes from Eldersberg to Laurel every day on 32. If you leave at 6:30 in the morning, it's about a 30 minute drive. If you leave at 7:00 it's about a 40 minute drive. The traffic is worse during the school year, so during the school year add another 5-10 minutes to the above times.

The further south one drives along Rte 29 from Columbia towards DC, the more lights one will drive through. The commute south to DC is pretty tough during am rush hour traffic. The return home isn't any better.

thank you.

I guess travelling East from Silver Spring to Laurel on beltsway is much more easier.

It's a heck a lot better than driving from Rockville to Laurel, but that commute can still be tough after 4pm.

Everyone is going east/south on 32/29 to get to DC/NSA/Ft.Meade/BWI/etc.
Only if you are going north or west are you going to be going against the flow of traffic, AM OR PM rush hour.
