Hi, I work in Baltimore city down near the Ravens stadium and am considering purchasing a house in the Eldersburg/Sykesville area. I typically work 7:30am to 6pm. How is the commute? Any better routes than others? Thanks for any info!

Don't. That's 26 miles of notoriously congested roads... each way.

If you're willing to put yourself in a position to be hating life 2-3 hrs each day...
at least get paid for it. Try to find a home much closer to town.

Even with those hours you have to budget the first hour each way.
(google calls the basic trip at 40 minutes which means without ANY hiccups)

Add in some congestion (yeah, even at those hours) and weather and accidents...
and I'm calling the commute at no less than 60 minutes... plus an allowance.
all told... that's 2-3 hours a day.
