Hey all! We'll be moving from Long Island to Centreville quite soon--although it's been in the talks for sometime now (I'm from NY, he's from MD) Sandy has given us no other choice than to move ASAP. We will be staying with my in-laws temporarily, until I can better familiarize myself with the shore. Hubby has work in DC, and right now I'll be able to do the stay-at-home-mom thing until the kids get adjusted.

I have close to a million questions, but I guess Ill start with the most important...regarding out kids (9 & 2 1/2). How ARE the public elementary schools? Kennard seems alright I think (?), but is private really worth the extra money? If so, are there any reasonably priced ones on my side of the bridge? My husband went to Chesapeake Academy but I can't help but feel like it's so far from Centreville! (but maybe thats something I need to get used to?)

I went through the Catholic school system up in NY, and from the research I've done it looks like there is only one Catholic school near Centreville...I'm not dead set on Catholic- I actually prefer Christian anyway. Any suggestions would be more than helpful. I'm trying to move our 9yr old as few times as possible seeing how our family has been though quite a lot the past month!

My biggest obstacle however has been trying to find a daycare down there! Our 2 1/2 year old is coming from an AMAZING daycare/pre-k full-time school up here (9-3). They have music, gym, and a great staff. She knows all her numbers, letters and can spot her name on a list. I'm looking for a similar environment but all I can find is Kindercare...but my husband isn't convinced. He went there when he was 4 and says it traumatized him (yes, he can be a little dramatic ).

Anyway, those are my two biggest concerns right now...ANY input would be really very helpful! Thanks so much!
