I'm a Red Sox fan so I can't speak from experience. But growing up in that area I can tell you that most of my friends converted to the O's after the Senators left. However there is a lot of anger at the owner and once the Nats came to town the majority converted over seeing as Washington is their hometown, not Baltimore.

I root for both teams and it is great to see both teams finally doing good after years of hardship!!

I was seven years old when Cal and the O's won the World Series in 1983. The Nats didn't even show up until I was several years out of college.

So, no, I'm not going to be an Expos fan, although I am glad Teddy won.

I suspect anywhere north of Frederick-Columbia-Annapolis is going to be diehard O's fans, given the combination of proximity (and the Keys in Frederick) and history. West of Hagerstown you probably start getting some influx of Pittsburgh fans.

From my tiny sample size of conversations, it seems Frederick splits 50/50 between the Redskins and Ravens but it's a pretty solid Orioles town.

I've gotten a few folks over here in Leesburg who still hold to the old ways, even though the Post has ignored us. My O's hat is a great conversation starter.
