Regional funding pushed in Baltimore - Mass Transit

I think it beats the one-big-pot strategy that O'Malley prefers, and I believe it to be more equitable. It's common in many metro areas in the US.

Any thoughts?

Better idea IMO as well. No need to force other areas of the state to fund transit that they will never use.

It sounds like it could work. But I will be skeptical until I see the specific language. It sounds like it could be county based, which would work. But, I don't trust MOM as far as I can throw him. I am waiting for the roll out of the "regions." You never know if "Region 6" could stretch from Potomac to Oakland.

I think it's a great idea. But it needs to come with more local control over the MTA. The agency would function a whole lot better if it was a regional agency instead of an arm of state government.

Agree 100% They have no local accountability and it shows
