The Sheraton near the the Towson Town Center Mall is really nice. The mall is next door, the hotel has a nice restaurant, and it is easily accessible from the highway. The area near the Sheraton is a business/shopping area and very safe. Towson is not that big. If you decide to stay at the Sheraton Hotel it shouldn't take you no longer than 15-20 minutes to get anywhere in Towson.

Also, you may want to go to Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor to read hotel reviews in Towson and North Baltimore and post your question on the Towson & Baltimore travel threads. The locals on trip advisor offer visitors to their city with better suggestions. You could also go to Mapquest or Yahoo maps to print out a map of the address that you are staying at and your testing site. Both will give you the distance and time it will take to get to and from the Sheraton and your testing site.

The Sheraton in Towson is called the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel. Just ask the folks on the Baltimore forum on trip advisor about other hotels in Towson and the address of your testing site. The only other hotels that I can think of in that area are the Holiday Inn and Marriott. However, I know that the Sheraton is nice because I have stayed there before.
