My husband and I are looking to buy a home in Hagerstown. We are trying to get a better understanding of the neighborhoods and what they have to offer. What is the neighborhood like in the areas inside N. Potomac St, E north Ave., N Cannon Ave and E Washington St.

Do you have kids? Are schools important? What are you looking for? Is this an investment property or are you looking to move? N. Potomac has some charm, the others are a little rough around the edges.

Not concerned with schools. It is my husband, I and our 2 dogs. We are looking for a our primary residence. We have noticed a few flips of the row homes or federal home in the area that we like but know nothing about the area.

It's an area of town that is (hopefully, so it seems) being targeted for redevelopment right now. The population is lower income, the houses are mostly rentals, and yards are small (thinking about your dog......however you could walk to a new dog park about ten minutes away by foot). But, it could be a good investment. Downtown Hagerstown has been hurting since the economy took a downturn. Things are starting to look up, there a a lot of new restaurants and businesses that have moved in to that area. I would come visit and walk the neighborhood to get a better feel.

Default Did you End up Visiting??

My husband and I are in the same boat you are in. Two dogs, no kids, and were looking at some of the historic homes. Just wondered if you ever visited and what your thoughts were. Thanks
