Hello- we are looking for single family homes to rent in Columbia area. Does anyone know any or have names of property management companies. I have been on Zillow and not having the best of luck. Also, are all parts of Columbia nice? Thanks for the help!

There are not a plentiful supply of rental houses, according the Hotpads.com . However, there listings by PCF Management, Long and Foster, and RE/Max 100. I'd suggest also looking in Ellicott City, Elkridge, or further west in Woodstock.

The few not-so-nice places in Columbia are the low-rent complexes in Wilde Lake.

What is your budget and size requirement? I can generally say that a single family house will be at least $2000/month. Townhouses are less and they are much more plentiful. I think that the market for selling homes is so good that fewer are left on the rental market.

Have you tried Craiglist? Here's one recent listing from Craigslist: "$2600 / 4br - 3500ft² - Single Family House (Columbia)".

The house is showing it's age but it's in a decent area.
