I'm going to be moving to MD soon and would like to be within 5 miles of Annapolis. I'm looking for a very safe area. Any suggestions??

Thank you!

I'm just looking for a townhome or condo. I need to know where the safe areas are.

Arnold, Crownsville, Crofton, Parole. Anywhere in Annapolis except the public housing. There are even gated condominiums like Chesapeake Harbour and Spa Creek in Annapolis if you are really concerned about security.

For townhouses I look toward Arnold or Edgewater.

I'm a realtor and can tell you that there are many very nice, safe areas close to Annapolis. When is the move planned? Arnold would be an excellent fit if you want safe and close to Annapolis. What about in the district of Annapolis itself? Arnold and the Broadneck area have a lot of great things like parks, trails, ect. if you're an active person.

Arnold, Severna Park, apartments or townhomes along Bestgate in Annapolis or Defense Highway in Annapolis are safer areas. The main problem of living in Annapolis is when you have children and have to funnel those children into the schools. Also areas around the Naval Academy are safe. The main areas that are sketchy are West Street, parts of Forest Drive, parts of Eastport ( I would steer clear of those in general).

Dorothykw,

Probably around July 2014. I would like it to be in between Annapolis and Baltimore. A little closer to Annapolis, if possible. I'm really looking to rent an apartment or buy a condo. Probably around 1200 sq. feet. I don't have children. I'm not quite 55 yet, so I can't live in those communities. I've got a couple years to go.
