Hello! Visiting the area with boys 4-9 years old, going to DC, any advice on where to take them within 30 minutes radius of Kent Island?

Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, in the touristy town of St. Michaels, MD (located on a peninsula beyond Easton, MD)

Annapolis downtown, city dock area, harbor cruise, many Art galleries/ shops, a kite store. Walkable, narrow streets. You may have to park in a Garage.

"Six Flags of America" Amusement Park, on Route 214 "Central Avenue" in the Mitchellville/ Bowie area

Chesapeake Beach Water Park, - splash fun in the town of Chesapeake Beach, MD (follow Route 2 south of Annapolis)

Watkins Regional Park, between Largo and Upper Marlboro, MD - colorful carousel, miniature golf, miniature train ride around the farmyard, large modern playground

Ice rink, at Allen Pond, in Bowie, MD (maybe for older children though)

Bass Pro Shops outdoorsmens' store, at Arundel Mills Mall

How about towns to visit for a day with family? Besides the obvious DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, any other small towns, that are family friendly? Let's say within an hour of Bay Bridge?

Saint Michaels, MD is a popular, tourist town located on a narrow peninsula beyond Easton, MD. It has the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, and many boats. You can drive there easily without any complications navigating.

Chestertown, MD is a picturesque, colonial-era town, with a college, and on the Chester River. In the spring, they have a town festival honoring a Revolutionary War event that was similar to the Boston Tea Party. You can also drive directly there easily without any complications.

The Maryland Renaissance Festival goes on continuously every day for 2 or 3 months, every summer and early Fall, in Crownsville just outside of Annapolis.

The village of Savage, MD (beside I-95 north of Laurel, MD) has a crafts - gift shops mall called "Savage Mill" that's located inside a converted former garments factory.

Another charming, picturesque town is Ellicott City. Although it's close enough to be a suburb of Baltimore, it looks entirely different - with steep, hilly views, cafe's, gift shops, and a small train-museum (the world's first passenger-train service was there).

On Sat. April 26, the Celtic (Irish/ Scots) (outdoor) Festival will be in southern Calvert County - a few miles from the scenic, maritime, touristy town of Solomons, MD - which is much like Saint Michael's, MD. You could combine going to both places - the Festival, and Solomons - together, if you started out early enough. Although it may look like a long drive on a map, "Route 2/4" as it's called, is a smooth express-highway.
