Perhaps this thread should be under Politics and Other Controversies but just curios; why does Anthony Brown have such a huge lead in the polls over the other candidates? Everyone I know complains about O'Malley's tax and spend agenda, yet of everybody running, his deputy seems most inclined to continue the same fiscal policies as O'Malley. Just curious as to why he has such a significant lead?

The liberal Maryland State House machine (Busch/Miller) have decided Brown will be Governor for 8 years. The Baltimore Sun & other liberal media outlets have agreed he is the "chosen" one (sound familiar). Since they control PG/Montgomery Counties & Baltimore City voters its a DONE deal! So all the dissatisfied Eastern Shore/Western Maryland voters & angry conservative callers/voters on the C4 Show on WBAL don't amount to a hill of beans!

Maryland has the largest black voting bloc of any state in America. They comprise a substantial portion of the Democratic primary. Anthony Brown is black. Put two and two together, will you?

He is an inoffensive person. I am not endeared towards him because I know so little about him. I do wish he'd be more public and actively engaged in the electoral process so that the voters can get a better sense of him. I am reluctant to vote for him primarily because he has been blatantly anointed and is being protected by the powers that be during this campaigning season and I prefer to pick from a genuinely competitive slate. Even though I'm fairly conservative I like Heather Mizeur from Montgomery County for I think she would shake things up a bit and be more proactive in helping out genuinely poor Marylanders, of which there are many.

As it is, Brown will win and will be a blameless, competent and bland governor, like most governors are. And I probably won't vote.

North Beach Person, your empty suit photo pic is EXACTLY what Busch & Miller want from Brown. A figurehead that will do their bidding MORE taxes/fees for the increasing have not & decreasing have population in the NOT so Free State of Maryland!

Would love to hear what Brown was doing while the State was flushing over $200 million down the drain for the Obamacare exchange.

You know, since he was the titular head of the program.

Oh wait, that would constitute an actual question. The Sun and Post are contractually obligated not to ask questions of Dems.

The Democrat voters don't seem to care. They will go with the flow of the party. The only solution, since the Dem Primary seems to be where the office is decided, is for everyone to switch to the Democratic party ASAP, if it's not too late already. Then hold your nose and vote for Gansler. He at least realizes he has to talk about lower taxes, even if he might be lying about it. Heather, on the other hand, is a full blown liberal in that regard. At least that was my impression during the debate, for as long as I could stand listening to it.
