Heh.

(CNN) - After his strong criticism of the Obama administration's plans to return thousands of young undocumented migrants back to Central America, Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley asked a top White House official that the children not be sent to a site that was under consideration in his home state, sources familiar with the conversation said.

First on CNN: After criticizing White House over unaccompanied minors, Martin O’Malley said don’t send them to Maryland site – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

I'm soooo done with him. How was he ever elected?

Was he sooo great for Baltimore.....was that city in such great shape that people though oh yeah, HE IS THE ONE we want to run the entire state?

I can't wait to retire and leave this state. WHEN will voters WAKE UP!

Legislators are voting of all kinds of benefits for illegals, but don't bring them here.
People are such frigging hypocrites.

Those kids are no different from people who crossed the border illegally that certain politicians want to give amnesty to.
There're ALL here illegally. PERIOD. And shouldn't BE HERE! PERIOD.

Oh, you missed the juicy part.

O'MALLEY: DON'T SEND BORDER KIDS TO MARYLAND FACILITY | POLITICO

Quote:
But before they hung up, O’Malley told Muñoz not to send any of the children to the facility in Westminster, Md., that the White House was looking at. It’s a conservative part of the state, he warned. The children were at risk of getting harassed, or worse, he said.
MOM will be a huge hit in the swing states and among moderates and cross over voters with that attitude.

It simply confirms the notion that while Conservatives have a fairly good understanding of what Liberals think and believe, that Liberals are utterly clueless as to what Conservatives think and believe.

It is very rare that a true liberal gets exposed to conservative values, structure, or social norms, while liberal values are posted far and wide in the media and are "allowed" to be openly discussed (political + correctness) while conservative views are blotted out and openly shunned.

Is it any wonder there is such backlash? Of course you only hear the most extremist statements, because these are what the media wants to publish while moderate conservative arguments (sanity?) are purposefully ignored.

I know the facility that they are talking about in Westminster. It is a closed Army Reserve 'armory' (actually a one story building with offices a few classrooms a multipurpose room (gym/auditorium) and a shower rooms. (I don't know if it has kitchen facilities). It was last used for an engineering or transportation company. It probably has a pretty good motor pool but that is it. Here is the location in google maps

I don't know how many kids they were planning on putting there but it is borderline on 'appropriate'. Use of Barracks at Lackland AFB makes sense. The three story barracks were designed to house something like 1000+ basic trainees at a time. They have classrooms, administrative offices, shaded outdoor areas on the ground level, and dining halls sized for that many people. I know, I spent seven weeks in one of them back in the mid 70s :-). They are also part of a larger complex with recreational facilities, health care, etc. They aren't a small training facility out away from other Federal facilities. If they want to put them scattered around the country look at bigger bases that are currently underutilized because the military is shrinking.

Oh Westminster is NOT Western Maryland! It isn't even close! It is Central Maryland!

Ho-hum.

The same morons who elected O'Malley twice will be trotting to the polls to vote for Anthony Brown, a.k.a. O'Malley 2.0.

I can't wait to leave this hopeless state for someplace with a sane electorate.
