If you are being assigned to a store near College Park, look for apartments in Laurel, College Park, Silver Spring, etc. I would expect you have to pay $1200-1500 for a 2-br place in a nice suburban area. If you find something cheaper, I would be concerned about safety....

Is there a chance of being assigned to stores further away? There are stores in Gaithersburg, Ellicott City etc. That would complicate finding a place, but you can ask again when you know which store.

Look on Craigslist for basement apartments in a townhouse. Many folks rent out their unused basement space....which is usually cheaper, and many times in safe neighborhoods with other amenities.
